On July 5, 2004, the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB), 344-B Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Islamabad, Pakistan, issued a letter authorizing Dr. M. A. Qazi, President/CEO of Overseas Consultants, to assist the AEDB in short listing Fuel Cell Manufacturing companies in the United States of America and Canada to invite investors in this venture. Overseas Consultants assembled a three-member team for this purpose.
In 2005, Overseas Consultants assembled an International Consortium of Consultants (ICC) comprising of MacAulay and Associates (United Kingdom), Franklin Energy Group (United States of America), and Wind Baron International (Pakistan) to assist the AEDB in setting up 50-100 MW Windmill Farms in the south of Pakistan near Karachi.
The ICC brought on board the Fair Fund Foundation (FFF), Inc. to help in financing these projects. FFF is registered in Ireland as a non-profit organization and was established for the sole purpose of providing the financing to developing countries as a grant on a humanitarian basis. So far, Overseas Consultants has five clients in this funding mechanism.
Currently, Overseas Consultants is working as a team with WaterSmart Environmental, Inc. (United States of America) and Marvel Energy Ltd. (Pakistan) in submitting Feasibility Reports for three energy generation projects for the Government of Pakistan under a grant by the United States Trade Development Authority (USTDA), Washington, District of Columbia, United States of America.
On approval of any or all of these Feasibility Reports, this team will solicit funding from various sources in the United States and overseas to finance these projects. The team will then design, procure, build, operate and transfer these plants to the final benefactor.
